Monday 10/16 (Day 1): 1. Read/Goals.  2. Revising Day 2: add 5 special requirements.

Tuesday 10/17 (Day 2):   1. Read.  2. Editing Day–use a trusted proofreader to edit all errors.

Wednesday 10/18 (Day 3):   1. Publishing Day–in class, print today and hand in error-free copy tomorrow after labeling 5 special requirements in left-hand margin.  2. Visit Media Center.

Thursday 10/19 (Day 4):  Shortened periods for Community Builders (rubber band war during CB).  In class, hand in Traditions essay, and start pre-writing for Family Album in Writer’s Notebook or on Google doc.

Friday 10/20 (Day 5): In class, introduce Freak the Mighty and Freak’s Dictionary (pp. 161-169). Begin reading Freak the Mighty, chapters 1 & 2.

Monday 10/23 (Day 6): 1. Return “Traditions” essays.  2. Continue Freak the Mighty.  Read chapters 3-6 and write brief chapter summaries.

Tuesday 10/24 (Day 1): shortened periods for Nathan Hale’s ghost Continue Freak the Mighty. Read chapters 7-9 and write brief chapter summaries.

Wednesday 10/25 (Day 2): Continue Freak the Mighty.  Read chapters 10-12 and write brief chapter summaries.

Thursday 10/26 (Day 3): Continue Freak the Mighty.  Eat gruel, aka American chop suey; watch the “more gruel” scene from Oliver!; read chapters 13-15; and write brief chapter summaries. Assign as homework “Freak’s Dictionary,” which is due next Friday.
